Announcing Email Newsletters!

I'm really excited to announce that we have launched one of the most highly requested features from our users: the ability to send blog posts as email newsletters.

With Video To Blog, you can now start building your audience, gain subscribers, and send your blog posts as email newsletters to all of your subscribers. This is all available within our publications feature.

Getting started

Follow the steps below to get started sending email newsletters...

Step 1. Create a publication (if you haven't already)

If you haven't already created a publication, create one by clicking the publication drop down at the top left and click the Create Publication option.

Step 2. Enable Newsletters (only for older publications)

Newsletters are enabled by default for any publication that was just created, but if you previously had a publication you'll need to enable newsletters by going to your publication Settings and clicking the Newsletter sending option.

This will not only enable you to send posts as newsletters, but it will also enable your publication visitors the ability to subscribe and sign up to your email list on your publication website.

Step 3. Add Subscribers

Once you enable newsletters, your publication website visitors will now the ability to sign up and subscribe to your email list. 

However, to send your post as a newsletter, you need at least 1 subscriber.

The easiest way to do this is to add yourself as a subscriber. You can do this by clicking the Subscribers menu option and clicking the Add yourself as a member to test button as shown below.

Step 4. Create and publish a new post

Finally, just create a blog post like you would normally. Then, when you go to publish the post you'll have the option to publish only, email only, or publish and email.

 

Boom. That's it!

Customize your newsletter

You can customize the look and feel of your newsletter easily. Just head to Settings and click on your newsletter.

Create multiple newsletters

You can also create multiple newsletters on your publication. This means you can give your audience the option of what email content they'd like to subscribe to.

Post Analytics

This newsletter feature also brings a much needed update to our post analytics. Now, you can easily view things like views, clicks, emails sent, open rate, and more.

 

To view a post's analytics just click the chart icon next to your post once it had been published.
